It was social studies all day at school-LIVE. Each of the kids' teachers, science and PE teachers too, had students watch the inauguration of the 44th President of the United States of America.
History in the making.

the hopes of so many

President Obama's address drew from inspiring American patriots like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Paine. My favorite quote:
History in the making.

the hopes of so many

President Obama's address drew from inspiring American patriots like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Thomas Paine. My favorite quote:
"Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested, we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations."

I too really enjoyed watching everything and hearing the inaugural address.
I am so glad to hear that the schools there had the kids watch it. I was floored when my kiddo's came home and told me that they had not seen it. The teachers here missed out on showing the kids history in the making. Crazy.
Love all your pictures:)
Uncle Peter was there. Unfortunately too many tickets were issued and the infastructure couldn't handle all the people who showed up--so Peter didn't get in. I was very pleased to see the gracious way the Bushes and the Obamas greeted and said goodbye to each other. Civility even kindness is possible in the political arena.
