Buenas Noches

This is a picture of Amanda and I learning how to cook in Spanish together. Senora Holmes taught us how to make food from where she lived in Peru.

We made Causa Rellna and Palta a la Reyna. My favorite was the Palta a la Reyna.

When we were all done, we made lemonade. I had a wonderful time learning to cook.
Thank you Senora Holmes!

Thanks for bringing me along Jeffrey. It was a fun night out. My favorite was also the Palta a la Reyna.
The recipe is:
2 paltas (avocado)
1.2 libra de camarones (1/2 lb shrimp)
1 limon
1 zanahoria (onion-I think, red)
1 lata pequena de vainitas(green bean)
1 punado de arverjitas (peas)
Mayonesa
sal y pimienta
Halve the avocados and set aside to stuff. Chop the shrimp and vegies. Toss together with mayo and lemon juice to taste. Use to fill the avocado. Yummy.

Above-zanahoria = carrots, but we didn't use any in our recipe, but we did use red onion. That was my confusion.

Causa Rellena is also good.
This one's in English, because my brain is too tired.
Mashed potatoes
1 lemon
1 can tuna
mayo
parsley
1 egg, hard boiled (you can use a hard boiled egg to garnish the other dish as well)
avocado, sliced thin
1/2 a red onion, chopped
tomato sliced thin
1.2 lb shrimp
Mix salt and pepper with mashed potatoes, the chopped red onion, and a little lemon juice. Spread half the mixture in a pan. Lay shrimp and avocado slices on top and press down gently. Spread over rest of potatoes. Add a dollop of mayo in center and circle tomato slices around it. Crumble egg yolk in center and corners. Arrange more shrimp around edges. Season with salt and pepper.
Puede hacerlo!

I think it is a great thing to be able to cook foods from different areas of the world and to have a native as your teacher is the best.

I am looking at that top recipe and it has avacado, shrimp and onions - YUMMO - Sounds like my kind of food!

It all sounds yummy. I have a question for you Angie. I tried putting the video blog, mormon messages, on my site and it comes up but I also have other videos from youtube that I don't want that show up also. Do you know how to get rid of them? Thanks for your help
