- coming home... and feeling like it was home, because it was where my family was
- getting a package from my grown-up daughter and feeling like a kid when I saw the letter with my name on it
- cleaning the kitchen with my other daughter and realizing she is well on her way to being an adult, too
- eating cookies Brandon and Jeffrey made by themselves
- having Taylor hold still long enough for a real hug
- singing, “This is the night we’ve waited for” with kids that are singing it along with me even though they’ve probably grown out of it a long time ago, and wondering how long we can keep it up. Wondering if they’ll sing it with their own children.
